What Atiku Said After Governors of Delta, Ondo Contracted COVID-19

Former Vice President and 2019 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the news that some state governors recently tested positive for COVID-19.

AFNEWS recalls Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Wednesday announced he has tested positive to the virus. Before him, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State also announced on Tuesday that he tested positive.

Previously, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State had also disclosed he is coronavirus positive.

Reacting to the developments, Atiku in a tweet on Wednesday prayed for their quick recoveries and wished them strength as they battle back from the infection.

He tweeted: "My thoughts and prayers and those of my family are with Gov. @IAOkowa, Gov Okezie Ikpeazu and Gov @RotimiAkeredolu and their families and all those currently undergoing treatment for COVID-19. Be strong and get well soon. -AA.ÔÇØ

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported seven hundred and ninety confirmed new cases of Coronavirus pandemic infection in Nigeria.

The new cases were confirmed on Wednesday night at exactly 11:54 pm, in a series of tweets on the verified Twitter account of the health agency.
