2023: What PDP Must Do To Gain Nigerians' Trust - Makinde
As the internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) persists, the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, also a chieftain of the party, has advised the PDP to live by example, unify the party so that Nigerians can listen to their proposed unification of the country.

Makinde while speaking at the south west PDP stakeholders meeting with the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar in attendance, insisted that the National chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu must resign despite the vote of confidence passed on him by the National Executive Council of the party.

"The Southwest leaders believe that Atiku is capable of moving Nigeria out of the present doldrums. Atiku is a unifier and we are confident he has the capacity to reposition the country, but he must look inwards by first supporting the restructuring of the party and uniting its members before the elections.

"We are supposed to give hope to our people, we want them to listen to us.

"Eight years of the All Progressives Congress have left us sharply divided. The issue is we must practice what we preach.

"If we want to unify Nigeria, we must unify PDP first; if we want the government of national unity, it must reflect in PDP; if we want to restructure Nigeria, we must restructure PDP first.ÔÇØ

"The message from the South-West PDP is the South-West is asking that the National Working Committee of the PDP should be restructured.
