H0T: Why Ghana Police Is Investigating Christ Embassy Church | READ DETAILS

The church had on April 30, 2021, at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair Centre Accra, held a program tagged 'Pneumatic Night' having a large number of people, exceeding the government approved number of persons for any event.

An online video of the youth program shows members in their numbers, singing and dancing without wearing nose masks nor observing social distancing which forms part of the Covid-19 Protocols.

Meanwhile the Fantasy Dome has been locked up while investigations are still on.

The statement released by the Ghana Police Service, and signed by Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman(Mrs), Supritendent of Police, Director Public Affairs, read;

"Christ Embassy Youth Church "Pneumatic Night; The Police is investigating an alleged gathering by the Christ Embassy Church at Trade Fair Centre Accra on Friday, April 30, 2021, in flagrant disregard of COVID-19 protocols.

"Trending videos of the alleged gathering, dubbed "Pneumatic NightÔÇØ shows a non-mask wearing mass crowd, screaming, chanting and dancing to the "evangelismÔÇØ of non-mask wearing leaders; putting the entire country at risk of spreading COVID-19.

"The Police did not provide security for the said event. In fact, the organizers did not give notice of the event to any Police officer or Station. The event advertised as a church service which ordinarily did not require notice under the Public Order Act, was organized at the blind side of the police.

"Police have since Sunday morning locked up the Fantasy Dome and have started questioning leaders of the church and management of the Fantasy Dome about the event.

"Any person found culpable will be arrested and duly prosecutedÔÇØ the statement read in part.
