T0P ST0RY: Why Insecurity Has Persisted In Nigeria - Rodney Onwuka, Security Expert

The security expert stated this yesterday in an exclusive interview with ALL FACT NEWSPAPER.

According to Rodney Onwuka, the initiative which is a non-governmental organization was borne out of a need to fight against the menace of secret cults in Nigeria universities, and has experienced tremendous results in its effort to bring cultism to its barest minimum.

He blamed the high level of moral decadence that has resulted to cultism and insecurity in our universities and society on the failure of the family to instill the right value system in their wards.

"some student join cult for reasons based on negative experience at the family level, they join to have the capacity to avenge the wrong done to him by another family member"

"there are those who join cult because they want to create avenue to exhibit and diffuse frustration from the family, school and the society"

Institutions, Administrators and Lecturers according to him also share in the blame as some have been allegedly accused of sponsoring cult activities in their institution to silence those that oppose them and their administration.

"some institution and administrators are autocratic and maintain hostile relationship with staff and students, ban unionism, and acts like that promote cultism"

On the insecurity that has gripped the country, Rodney Onwuka chided the security agencies in Nigeria for not being proactive in engaging intelligent security experts like him.

"security agencies have benefited to the extent that they have engaged our services and the intelligence that we have provided for them. It is very unfortunate that they have been very reactive with such information as they wait until things go worse before acting on the information provided"

"the hallmark of insecurity is lack of intelligence and they don't want to expand their scope of intelligence and engage other department that can provide intelligence, and that's why insecurity has persisted"

When asked if the general election will hold in 2023, considering the level of insecurity in the country, Rodney Onwuka opined that the elections will hold as it would serve the interests and purposes of few individuals to the detriment of many Nigerians.

He however advised security agencies to engage with the people they are protecting as they cannot police people they don't know.
