Why Lai Mohammed Is Yet To Respond To Lekki Tollgate Panel's Report - Spokesman

Following Nigerians curiosity as to why Lai Mohammed, Minister for Information and Culture is yet to speak on the Lagos state panel of inquiry's report on Lekki Tollgate killings, the minister's spokesman have given an answer.

Mohammed has been expected to react to the panel's report days after it got leaked as he continuously refuted that there was shooting and killings at the toll gate during the October 20, 2020 #EndSARS protest.

The minister had said the massacre if any is best described as a massacre without bodies.

However, the panel's report affirmed that people were shot at and killed at the toll gate, indicting the Nigerian Army and the police.

The minister's spokesman, Segun Adeyemi in a text message to PUNCH on Thursday, said Lai Mohammed is currently out of Nigeria on an official assignment and will soon react to the report of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and other matters.

Meanwhile the minster who is 'currently out of the countryÔÇØ released a statement lauding the United States government for un-listing Nigeria from the list of religious violators.
