Why Police Corporal Was Dismissed From Duty -READ DETAILS

Corporal Opeyemi kadiri has been dismissed by the Nigeria Police Force on grounds of gross misconducts and disobedience to lawful order.

Opeyemi, with Force No. 509745, attached to Dolphin Divisional Headquarters, Lagos Police Command, was seen in a video that went viral, assaulting a commuter on August 3, 2022.

According to reports, he was caught searching a commuter's phone by the roadside contrary to the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba.

The dismissed officer assaulted the commuter who attempted to bring the order to his notice.

Force Spokesman of the police, Olumuyiwa Adejobi while announcing his dismissal in a statement, stated that his dismissal took effect from August 12, 2022.

The NPF further called on officers and men of the Force to maintain professionalism and civility to members of the public in the discharge of their duties in line with extant laws, urging members of the public to ensure proper conduct in all encounters with police to avoid infractions that may lead to prosecution.
