ISIALA NGWA FED. CONST: Why Tribunal Dismissed Agbazuere's Petition Against Ginger Onwusibe
The petition filed by Prof. ACB Agbazuere of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), seeking the sack of Hon. Ginger Onwusibe as the member representing Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, has been dismissed by the Tribunal.

The National Assembly election petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia, the capital city of Abia state, in it's ruling on Monday, affirmed Onwusibe of the Labour Party as the winner of the February 25, 2023 election.

The tribunal stated that Agbazuere's petition is a pre-election matter and therefore dismissed same for being statute-barred.

The Tribunal also held that the PDP and Agbazuere (Petitioners) failed to prove their allegation that Onwusibe and the Labour Party, failed to comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.

Also, the tribunal awarded N200,000 cost against the Petitioners in favour of each of the Respondents included in the petition.
