Workers Stranded As FG Enforce 'No Vaccination, No Entry' Into Federal Secretariat

Un-vaccinated workers in the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, have been denied entry into the complex.

The Federal Government had slated December 1, 2021 as deadline for un-vaccinated workers to have access to in to public offices.
Federal workers were mandated to take the COVID-19 vaccination as they will need to show a negative PCR test or proof of receiving the COVID jab.

Following the entrance restriction, a vaccination stand has been set up under a canopy close to the secretariat for those interested to take their COVID-19 vaccine.

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria has requested the Federal Government to extend the deadline till March next year which fell on deaf ear.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC ) on Wednesday, reported the first case of the new COVID -19 variant, OMICRON in the country.

The NCDC said the variant was found among travellers from South Africa after the genomic sequencing of positive cases from a routine day two test conducted at the National Reference Laboratory (NRL), Abuja.
