World Cup: Ecuadorian Players Bribed By Qatar $7.4 Million To Lose Opener- Reports

Barely two days to the 2022 World Cup, an alleged controversial allegation of corruption indicting the host country Qatar of bribing its Sunday opponent, Ecuador.

The hosting rights to Qatar has been now been marred by controversy, including allegations of corruption and human rights violations with a former FIFA president calling for a strip-off of the hosting rights from the country.

In this recent controversy, Amjad Taha, the regional director of the British Middle Center for Studies and Research with over 400,000 followers on Twitter has revealed that Qatar has bribed players of Ecuador ahead of the opening game.

He revealed that the World Cup hosts bribed eight Ecuadorian players $7.4 million to lose the opening game of the tournament which has been slated on Sunday, November 20 at the Al Bayt Stadium.
As of the time of writing, organizers of the tournament, FIFA, and the government of Qatar are yet to deny the rumours with few days left to the start of the tournament.
