WORLD CUP: Ghana Makes U-Turn On Match Venue | READ DETAILS
Nigeria's football rivals, Ghana has made a U-turn on the match venue ahead of the anticipated World Cup Playoff clash.

The Black Stars of Ghana are billed to face the Nigerian senior men's team, Super Eagles on the 25th of March for a coveted slot at the World Cup tournament slated for November in Qatar.

The initial venue for the pitched battle, the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in Ghana's Central region however became a subject of outcry after pictures of the dilapidated stadium surfaced on the internet.

While renovation efforts have begun, there are still raging doubts about the pitch with the brewing game 12 days away.

Meanwhile, The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) filed a petition to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on the bad state of the pitch last week and a CAF/FIFA inspection delegation is now in Ghana this week to follow up on this.

Subsequently, the saga saw CAF turning down a request from the host nation, Ghana for the game to be moved to the Baba Yara Stadium, the largest multi-purpose venue in the West African country.

According to circulating reports, Ghana may move the first leg of their 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria to a neutral venue with Benin and Morocco as suitable options.
