World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana Appoints Ex-Premier League Manager | READ DETAILS
The Ghana Football Association (GFA), has announced the appointment of former Newcastle United manager, Chris Hughton as their new technical adviser ahead of the brewing FIFA Qatar World Cup Qualifiers playoffs.

Amidst back and forth reports evolving a move for former Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr, the country's football regulation body has officially signed a deal with the English coach to handle the team's technical affairs.

The development also comes with the appointment of former midfielder, Otto Addo as head coach. George Boateng and Mas-Ud have also been announced as part of the new technical team.

The announcement was made by the GFA after a meeting with the executive committee on Wednesday, 9th of February, 2022.

The statement reads;
"Former Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has been appointed as Technical Advisor to the newly constituted Black Stars Technical team led by Otto Addo.

Other members of the new Technical team include George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani. The 63- year old will provide Technical advice to the three man team for next month's FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off match against Nigeria".

The Black Stars of Ghana will have a pitched battle against Eguavoen- led Super Eagles of Nigeria in the World Cup Qualifiers playoff slated for March.

The nation's football association management had sacked former coach, Milovan Rajevac following the Black Stars' abysmal exit form the AFCON in the group stage.
The two African football gaints are to contest for one of the five World Cup slots reserved for the continent.
