ZAMFARA GUBER: Court Disqualifies PDP Candidate

The governorship candidacy of Peoples Democratic Party in Zamfafa State was on Tuesday nullified by the Federal High Court sitting in Gusau.

Lawal-Dare emergence as the state PDP guber candidate had been in contention following a suit filed by Ibrahim Shehu and two other aspirants challenging the credibility of the primary election that produced him.

Ruling on the suit Justice Aminu Bappa stated that PDP will not field any candidate for the 2023 governorship election in the state as the the re- election of Dare was characterized by a series of irregularities

This is the second time that the court will nullify PDP governorship primary in Zamfara as the court had previously ordered a re-run of the primary which Lawal-Dare emerged winner in September.
