Abia 2023 Governorship Race: Prof. Ibe Reveals The Next Zone To Produce governor

Ahead of the 2023 governorship election in Abia State, the founder and Proprietor of Gregory University Uturu, has categorically stated that it is right to zone power to Abia North.

Greg Ibe who spoke in a radio interactive session today, February 9, 2021 in Umuahia said that Abia South has produced a governor in the state , it should now be zoned to the North for the sake of justice and equity.

He frowned at the antics of some persons from the south who want to disrupt a peaceful transition of power adding that they were going contrary to the agreed pattern of zoning.
He likened the ongoing agitation by the Igbos for presidency to the zoning dispute in the state, describing it as the same fight while urging the seeming strong heads "to do to others as they would want others to do to them".

According to him; " the south has produced a governor in Abia. We were given option to drop all our aspirations to support the south.

"As someone who was going for governorship, I left all I was doing , followed Ochendo Global to make sure we support Ikpeazu.
" All the elders of Ukwa-ngwa came to Abia North, and we took an oath with kolanut to pledge and support Ukwa ngwa.

" Now it is our turn, the elders have kept quiet. When you ask them, they tell you to allow zoning to take place and the younger ones are saying no. Something is wrong somewhere".
He went further to say that; " it has to go to the North so that there will be peaceful transition.

" My brothers in the south knows too well, but in politics you do small agitations but at the end, you should tally along because we are all brothers and things ought to be done the right way.

"Any right thinking Abian should know that it has to go to the North. When we get to that bridge, we cross it" he said.

This is coming as some group of persons agitates that Abia governorship seat should be zoned to Abia South again.
Recall that the current governor of Abia State who is from Abia South, came into power after the 2015 election.

In 1999, the seat of power in the state commenced from Abia North and since then the governorship seat has rotated round the zones.
