To my teeming political supporters, my brothers and sisters and friends at home and abroad, l appreciate all of you for your support. I know that you are shocked at the outcome of the so-called primaries by my party APGA. So, l am. l had thought that APGA is truly our own as the party likes sloganeering. For the records, you are aware that it was my entry into APGA that brought back hope to an otherwise a dead party in Abia State. And l did the much l could to support the party.

But l knows that in life, people are how they are because of who they are. And in politics, as it is often said, all is fair and all is game. But in the very instant case of the carefully manipulated APGA Primaries of 29th May 22, if you say that l scored 36 votes only in a primary where my LG Bende alone has 39 Delegates with 39 votes is the height of mockery of a flawed and rigged process. It will not fly in the face of reason and facts available to me. It means that it was only the Delegates from Bende my LGA that voted for me. This is rigging and manipulation taken too far and it is of course a lie that was not well thought through. This is why l have rejected this sham and shame of a primaries that is nothing but a clinical manipulation of the process orchestrated through a process of exclusion. This is not acceptable and would be redressed through appropriate channels. I urge you to remain calm while this process fully unravels itself. Thank you all and God bless.
Major General Ijioma N. Ijioma (Rtd).
Recall that Professor Gregory Ibe was declared the winner of the gubernatorial primary election yesterday after polling about 283 votes with his closest rival Etigwe Uwa SAN getting 148 votes.
