ABIA: APGA Stakeholders Pass Vote Of Confidence On SWC, Calls For Peace | READ DETAILS
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, on Thursday, June 16, passed a vote of confidence on Rev. Augustine Ehiemere led State Working Committee (SWC).

The stakeholders comprise of the 184 ward chairmen, women leaders and party secretaries in the state.

The vote of confidence was passed on the SWC at the party's state secretariat in Umuahia, an aftermath of the recently concluded party primary elections.

"we are completely aligned with the state working committee in their objective management of Abia APGA brining it in tune with the dictates of scientific party management. This singular approach produced candidates at the various primaries from the state house of assembly, house of representative, senate and governorship' the resolution read in part.
The stakeholders described the party's primaries as democratic and the freest of all, while calling on aggrieved members to withdraw all litigation against the SWC and candidates.

"the primaries were conducted in an atmosphere of due process and internal democracy and therefore the freest primaries ever held by APGA in Abia State.

"we canvass for the withdrawal of all litigation against the state working committee and the candidatesÔÇØ the stakeholders said.
They noted their resolve to support all candidates to ensure victory at the 2023 general election, warning that any person who violates their resolution "will suffer the wrath of the ward chairmen who conducted the 3-man delegates congress not excluding de- listing such persons from our respective wards.ÔÇØ
Responding, the leader of APGA in Abia state cum member representing Aba South state constituency in the House of Assembly, Hon. Obinna Ichita lauded the stakeholders for their solidarity move.

"I Appreciate you all for your solidarity and vote of confidence passed on the leadership of the PartyÔÇØ Ichita said.
He affirmed that the primary election which saw the emergence of Prof. Gregory Ibe as the party's gubernatorial candidate was free and fair.

On his own part, the State Chairman, Rev Augustine Ehiemere reiterated the candidacy of Ibe, lending his voice to calls on aggrieved members to withdraw law suits and embrace peace.
