AFTV (VIDEO): UNIVERSITY DON EXPOSES HOW TO IMPROVE AGRICULTURAL YIELD IN NIGERIA (MUST READ)

A Professor of Agricultural Extension Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, Umudike, Prof. Oji Onu Ekumankama elaborated on the need for implementation of his inaugural lecture titled "Beneficial Technologies on the Farm: An indispensable part of the extension team" delivered on the 10th April, 2019 during an interview on one of the flagship programs of Abia Facts TV; Leader's Platform.

During the interview, he implored farmers to adopt beneficial technology for massive productions and yield. In his words, "If farmers can adopt proven and appropriate technologies, there will be bumper harvest, massive productions. But my challenge, which i will continue to raise my voice is for people to improve through implementable policies, because most farmers still depend on ancient Agricultural practices which has contributed to low production.

While responding to a question which centered on the situation of Nigeria Education and how he is contributing towards improvement - he said; "i am worried about the situation of Nigeria Education, well, we are trying to help our students and there is need for the Federal Government to improve the facilities of Nigeria Universities which will enable us empower students technically and academically."

He appreciated the management of MOUAU for providing funds for students entrepreneurship scheme. According to him, the students of MOUAU have acquired lot of skills through the entrepreneurship scheme ."
