The governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Abia State, Dr Alex Otti OFR has revealed why he stopped the two hundred million dollar ($200million) loan request made to the African Development Bank (ADB), by the Abia State government.

Recall that Abia State Government in different forums have accused Otti of masterminding the moves that made the financial institution to stop the $200 million loan request.

During a media parley on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, Otti stated that he stopped the state government from getting access to the loan because "they falsified documents, did not consult the Abia state House of Assembly, neither have the state government being able to account for federal allocations they had received.

"I said no because they haven't accounted for the federal allocations and all the money they had collected" Otti explained.

According to the ex bank chief and Labour governorship candidate, he avoided a scenario where the loan would be collected and used for personal interest.

He went further to state that all Abians must be aware that they are equal stakeholders in this state, based on that everyone should be concerned about what is happening in the state.

Otti maintained that he is in the best position to reposition the state after more than 20 years of PDP ineffectiveness.

"We will hit the reset button and begin to build afresh when we assume governance of Abia State in 2023" he said.
