Speaking to All Facts Newspaper, Ukaegbu, discharged the notion that he invaded the party secretariat and stole valuables. He maintained that he went to the secretariat to enforce the appeal court's judgement affirming him as the chairman of APGA in the state.

"I didn't storm the secretariat, I couldn't have stormed the secretariat under the watchful eyes of the Nigeria police" he said.
Ukaegbu also refuted claims that he was on the run, alleging that "Ehiemere is the one on the run as the police are after him".

He also refuted the theft allegation against him saying;
"under what capacity is he (Ehiemer) petitioning me? his personal capacity or as what? if he wants, he can petition to Buhari, I will meet him there."
'He should allow the police to do their investigation" Ukaegbu added while responding to the petition against him.
According to Ukaegbu, APGA is in tact in Abia and the leadership change would not affect candidates who were elected during the party primaries for the 2023 general election.
