... Reveals How Abia Government Paid Apugo N500M For CBN To Be Constructed

The senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District and former Governor of Abia State, Senator T.A Orji has finally replied his kinsman Chief B.B Apugo over the allegation of corruption which Apugo usually throws at him at every media interaction.

Just recently, the APC Chieftain had granted a media interview with a national daily where he described the former governor as corrupt and also alleged that EFCC has refused to prosecute the former governor now senator.

But in a hot reply during a media interaction with selected journalist, Senator T.A Orji insisted that he is not corrupt and that their is nothing wrong with investigative agencies investigating someone. He stated that investigation does not mean indictment.

When asked why he does not respond to Chief B.B Apugo, the Senator who was recently voted as the best performing Senator in Abia state in a keenly contested online poll conducted by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER said:

"I usually do not respond to Illiterates and the man you just mentioned his name is an illiterate. I am his nightmare and will continue to be. I will continue to call him an illiterate until he presents his Primary School certificate, his secondary school certificate or his university degree. If he ever presents them, we will conduct verification on the certificates"

"The said Man lacks the moral justification to call anyone corrupt because he is facing a corruption charge in court. I am a public servant and the EFCC as part of their primary function can investigate any public officer and if they have evidence, they charge the person to court. I have not been charged to Court, then someone who the EFCC after their investigation has charged to Court for land grabbing is calling another person Corrupt".

The former governor went further to reveal how B.B Apugo tried to frustrate the establishment of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Umuahia, Abia State and how his government had to pay him Five Hundred Million Naira (N500M) before he allowed CBN to construct their facility.

"This same man tried all he could to frustrate the citing of CBN in the current location it is today. I was Governor then and Soludo, who is the Governor elect of Anambra State was CBN Governor, he made all manner of trouble, until we paid him a whooping N500M".

The senator further queried if a man who EFCC has investigated and sued to court for corruption and land grabbing has the moral grounds to accuse another of corruption.
