Barcelona tipped for UEFA Champions League success following thumping win over Borussia Dortmund - 'I don't think they have a weakness'
Following their dominant showing against Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona will be "too much for everyone" left in the UEFA Champions League this season, believes two-time winner of the competition, Owen Hargreaves. Hansi Flick's men are yet to lose in 2025 and are targeting a treble with a Copa del Rey final on the way and a four-point lead at the top of La Liga.

Barcelona have been tipped for UEFA Champions League success this season following their 4-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

Hansi Flick's men, who finished second in the league phase of the competition, look set to reach the last four after goals from Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and a brace from Robert Lewandowski saw them dispatch the German side.

Owen Hargreaves believes the current La Liga leaders will prove to be "too much for everyone" left in Europe's elite competition.

Discussing the Spanish giants, Hargreaves said: "I don't think they have a weakness. They're just a brilliant side.

"Obviously [it was] a difficult day for Dortmund. It's been a long season for them... This was a big ask for them, Nico Kovac and the players. They had a go. They had a few chances.

"But Barcelona are just so good. They're so good to watch. Actually, I don't see a weakness in the side. If they keep playing like this, they're going to be too much for everyone."

With Barcelona currently four points clear at the top of La Liga and with a Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on the horizon, there are growing talks of a potential treble in Catalonia.

Flick's men are yet to be beaten in 2025 and with the German's experience of winning trophies during his time at Bayern Munich, Hargreaves thinks the treble could be on the cards.

"I think they'll believe [that they can win the treble], but they won't want to get ahead of themselves," Hargreaves said.

"Hansi Flick's been here before with Bayern. I think he won six trophies in one season. He's been there and done it before and he's got a brilliant group of players.

"If you watch them play, you'll believe. Everybody will believe."

Should Barcelona progress, they will face either Bayern or Internazionale in the last four, and potentially PSG in the final, should both teams make it to Munich.

With the French side 3-1 up following Wednesday's first leg against Aston Villa, Hargreaves thinks they could be the side to expose a potential vulnerability in Barcelona's system.

He said: "The only thing is, okay, they're more disciplined and they have a bit more intensity in the pressing, but because of the high line, Dortmund had some chances today.

"If you think about against a PSG, they can hurt you on the break."
