BREAKING: Goods, properties worth billions of naira destroyed as fire guts Sabo market in Oyo

Many people have lost their goods and property worth billions of naira in Oyo town. This was as a result of a late-night inferno that gutted Sabo market.

The fire, according to Premium Times, reportedly started around 10:00 pm and spread to most parts of the market. Traders whose shops and valuables were caught in the fire were said to be lamenting and counting their losses.

The cause of the fire couldn't be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

Efforts to get the position of the police and Fire service on the incident proved abortive. The director of operation, Oyo State Fire Service, Adeleke Ismail, and the state's police spokesperson, Olugbenga Fadeyi, were unavailable to comment.
