COVID-19: FCTA Set To Restrict Un-vaccinated Visitors, Staff From Public Offices | SEE DATE

The Federal Capital Territory (FCTA), has announced date to commence restriction of un-vaccinated workers and visitors from public offices.

Recall that the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHDA), mandated state governors to ensure that local and state workers, receive the compulsory COVID-19 vaccination.

A statement released on Tuesday, by the Senior Special Assistant to FCT Minister on Media and Strategic Communication, Abubakar Sani, said all relevant agencies have been ordered to commence 'no vaccination, no entry' from January 17, 2022.
The statement titled, "FCTA to bar unvaccinated staff, visitors from offices" read;
"As part of efforts aimed at curtailing the spread of the COVID-19 in the FCT, all members of staff are therefore required to show evidence of Covid-19 Vaccination or present a negative Covid -19 PCR test result done within 72 hours, failure of which such members of staff will not be allowed to the office premises commencing from Monday, 17th January, 2022.

"In view of the fact that FCTA premises are public buildings, all visitors and clients coming to do business are required to comply with this directive.

"A circular signed by the FCTA Permanent Secretary has been sent to the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority and all Mandate Secretaries, the Coordinator of Abuja Metropolitan Management Council and the Coordinator of Satellite Towns Development Department, Heads of all Departments and FCTA Agencies to officially inform them. "

Sani added that the Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Director of Security Services will mount surveillance in all entry points, while offenders will be punished in compliance with the relevant provisions of the Public Service Rules.
