Deputy Speaker Urges South East to Support President Tinubu's Administration

The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dr. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Ph.D., CFR, has urged people of the Southeast to support President Tinubu's agenda and vision for the betterment of the people.

Speaking in an event organized by the Federal Ministry of Information & National Orientation, in Umuahia, the Rt. Hon. Kalu insisted that President Tinubu's administration remains the best, adding that through Mr. President, the Southeast has started feeling the positive impact which democracy entails.

In a sensitization campaign with the team "Tinubu Administration's Mid-Term Report", the DS lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), which he noted is significant, adding that since the end of the civil war in 1970, no Nigerian President had granted the South East's longstanding request for a development commission which is focused on reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Rt. Hon. Kalu, who was ably represented on the occasion by his Special Assistant on State Legislative Affairs, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, further reels out some of President Tinubu's achievements in the region such as the establishment of three (3) Federal Tertiary institutions in Bende, Item and Okigwe, NELFUND, for students loan, subsidized dialysis center at FMC Owerri, approval for the establishment of an Airport at Nsulu, in Abia State, as well as the ongoing construction of 2nd Niger bridge access road, Ebonyi-Benue road, Enugu-Port Hacourt road; and the approval of $125 million from the Islamic Development Bank, for road constructions and Renewed Hope Housing for Abia State, among others.

Rt. Hon. Kalu, however, expressed satisfaction at the level of awareness in the southeast with regards to President Tinubu's achievements in the region; and called on the media and various stakeholders to always promulgate Mr. President's landmark projects in the southeast region.

During the occasion, the Board Member Representing South East on the Board of North West Development Commission (NWDC), Hon. Chijioke Chukwu also lauded President Tinubu's achievements in the region while calling on Ndigbo to rally round Mr. President, come 2027, for more democratic dividends.
