President Muhammadu Buhari has given a directive for the National flag to be flown at half mast to mourn the death of Ernest Shonekan.

Shonekan the former Head of the Interim National Government between August 26 and November 17, 1993, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the age of 85.

The President directs that the flag be flown at half mast from Wednesday, 12 to Friday 14 January ,2022.
"I have directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast, effective from Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th January, 2022, as a mark of respect for the departed former Head of the Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, GCFRÔÇØ President Buhari disclosed.
