Flood Disaster (Abia): Lawmaker Mike Ukoha attracts SEMA/NEMA

Following the outcry of the people of Atani, Ibom and Obinkita villages in Arochukwu, over flood disaster in their areas in 2021, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), through the quick intervention of the member representing Arochukwu State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, has provided relief items to the victims.

In his speech while presenting the materials, Hon. Ukoha, explained that the outcry of the people over flood disaster in their areas during last year's rainy season, prompted him to intervene by running to both the state and federal government for intervention.

The Lawmaker hinted that as their representative, he owe them basic information of his numerous activities and also come to their assistance in time of need.
Hon. Ukoha, further urged the people never to relent, but continue to support his efforts in order to attract more democratic dividends to them.

He called on the victims of flood disaster to make judicious use of the items provided for them, adding that they can never be forgotten.

In addition, Hon. Ukoha, specifically thanked the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, for making SEMA to be what it should be in their intervention efforts, as well as President Muhammadu Buhari, on his numerous efforts through NEMA.
Speaking at the occasion, a stakeholder in the area Mrs. Gladys Azubuike, who was full of excitement, thanked the Lawmaker on his numerous interventions as well as his love for his people.

Mrs. Azubuike further lauded Hon. Ukoha, for always reaching out to his constituents from time to time and for attracting the materials to the victims.

She prayed God to always guide and protect him in his representational responsibilities to his constituents.

In their separate speeches, some of the victims of flood disaster includes Mrs. Elewechi Ibe, from Obinkita village, Mrs. Nnennaya Nwonu, from Atani village, Mazi Ogbonnaya Frank, from Ibom village, all expressed delight in the Lawmaker for always remembering his people.

They hinted that the items provided for them, will go a long way in cushioning their traumas.

Among the items provided to the victims include, bundles of roofing sheets, bags of cement, bags of roofing nails, bags of rice, beans, garri, jerry cans of vegetable oil, among other items.
