Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, on Wednesday, June 12, 2025, delivered a powerful and emotionally resonant Democracy Day address, where he not only reflected on Nigeria's democratic struggles but also offered a brutally honest critique of the current state of governance in the country. In his message to the people of Abia and Nigerians at large, Governor Otti marked the day as a sacred moment for truth, reflection, and renewed patriotic commitment.

"We pollute democracy when we sell our votes or take bribes to do what we were hired to do. We weaken democracy when we stay silent even when our conscience calls us to act,ÔÇØ he said.
