The management of Gregory University Uturu has expressed profound sorrow over the recent brutal murder of two Chinese expatriates and a police officer in Amaya Ndundu autonomous community, located in Isuikwuato Local Government Area (LGA) of Abia State. This tragic event has sent shockwaves through the local community and beyond.ÔÇï

In an official statement released by the Deputy Registrar for Communication, Sleek Ogwo, the university unequivocally condemned the heinous act and called upon security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation. The institution emphasized the urgent need to apprehend those responsible and ensure they face the full weight of justice.ÔÇï

Addressing potential concerns regarding the safety of students and staff, the university management provided assurances to the public, especially parents and guardians. They highlighted that the security of the university community remains a top priority. Notably, the university's location in Amaokwe Achara, Uturu, spans a 100-hectare site, which is significantly distant from Ndundu where the incident occurred. This geographical separation reinforces their confidence in the safety of their students and staff. Nonetheless, the university continues to collaborate closely with relevant security agencies to maintain and enhance the security and well-being of everyone on campus.ÔÇï
