Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigerian business titan and elder statesman, Dr. Pascal Dozie, CON, who died just one day before his 86th birthday.

Governor Otti, in an emotional condolence message made available to the press on Tuesday, described the late Dr. Dozie as a national icon who made "giant strides in diverse fields of human endeavourÔÇØ, including finance, telecommunications, entrepreneurship, and public service. According to the Governor, the vacuum left behind by Dr. Pascal Dozie's death will be difficult to fill.

"Dr. Pascal Dozie was a renowned entrepreneur, investor, and statesman whose impact on humanity cannot be overemphasized. He wrote his name in gold in many areas. Though he lived a long and fulfilled life, his departure has created a huge vacuum,ÔÇØ Governor Otti said.

The Governor went on to highlight how Dr. Dozie's legacy has become a model for both emerging and established professionals in Nigeria and beyond. As a visionary who co-founded Diamond Bank and served as the pioneer chairman of MTN Nigeria, Dozie was known not just for building institutions but for grooming a generation of Nigerian leaders and innovators.

Governor Otti further noted that the late businessman's passion for development, ethical leadership, and economic growth defined his interactions in both the private and public sectors.

He commiserated with the entire Dozie family and prayed for God's comfort, grace, and strength as they navigate this difficult period.
