Legendary Nigerian football icon and Chairman of Enyimba FC, Ambassador Nwankwo Kanu, has sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to Chief John Ogbuh, Chairman of Abia Warriors FC, following the club's historic qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup - the first in the history of the Umuahia-based team.

The 'Umu Chineke Boys' booked their continental spot in dramatic fashion on Sunday after pulling off a thrilling comeback victory against Elkanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri in a Matchday 37 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), played at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The win catapulted Abia Warriors to 60 points - a tally that mathematically secured them a CAF ticket with one match left to play, making it impossible for any trailing club to overtake them.

In a congratulatory letter shared via Enyimba Media, Kanu, also a FIFA Ambassador, commended the meteoric rise of Abia Warriors under Chief Ogbuh's leadership, describing the achievement as one that should be celebrated by all lovers of football - not just in Abia State, but across the nation.
