Abia State has recorded another major breakthrough in education, infrastructure and governance as Governor Alex Otti announced a series of transformative achievements during the November edition of "Governor Otti Speaks to AbiansÔÇØ, his monthly accountability and performance briefing.

One of the most remarkable developments is the full restoration of accreditation for 24 programmes at the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu - courses that had lost accreditation under previous administrations. Governor Otti described the achievement as a major milestone in rebuilding the state's teacher education sector.

According to the Governor, ASCETA is currently undergoing massive infrastructural renewal, including roads, lecture theatres, hostels, and classroom upgrades.

"The whole idea is to make it a true ground for proper training of teachers,ÔÇØ he said.

Governor Otti also informed Abians that new structures have been completed at the permanent site of the Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, adding that the institution will soon be commissioned as part of efforts to expand technical education and innovation.

Highlighting the Polytechnic's growing relevance, Otti revealed that students of the institution have been producing the ASEPA refuse buckets now in use across the state.

"If you see ASEPA buckets around your neighbourhood, they were constructed by our own students,ÔÇØ he said proudly.

In the transport sector, the Governor announced that electric buses recently delivered to the state would hit the road before the end of the year, a move expected to drastically reduce transportation costs while promoting clean energy.

On land administration, Otti disclosed another unprecedented milestone - the issuance of 3,562 Certificates of Occupancy (CofOs) within two and a half years, surpassing what some states could not achieve in eight years.

He attributed this to the successful automation of Abia's land processing system.

The briefing further reaffirmed the administration's commitment to innovation, transparency, and people-centered development across every sector of the state.
