How JTF Nabbed 10 Suspected Killers Of Security Agents In Essien Udim, Recovered 49 Guns, Others

The Joint Task Force (JTF) comprising the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) has arrested no fewer than 10 suspects directly linked to the killing of security personnel in Essien Udim local government area.

It said it also recovered over 49 guns comprising AK-47 rifles, G3 rifles, dane guns, riot guns, AK-47 magazines and G3 magazines in the process.

Other Items were; 1grey coloured Toyota Hilux with Reg. No. ENU 762 YJ, white and ash coloured Mitsubishi bus with Reg. No. XE 276 ABA, white coloured Sino Truck with Reg. No. SSM 505 ZR, blue Toyota Corolla with Reg. No. GWA 955 BF, 4 motorcycles, 654 rounds of ammunition, 10 cartridges, 96 Smoke cartridges, Smoke Grenade, and 21 teargas bombs.

A statement signed by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Amiengheme Andrew and obtained by Blueprint in Uyo on Wednesday, said the sum of sixty-three thousand, three hundred and thirty naira was recovered from the suspects.

Recalled that there had been some coordinated attacks on security agencies and formations, particularly, the police leading to the destruction of both lives and properties last month in the state.

Amiengheme said the success came through following coordinated raids on the locations of criminal elements at Ntak Ikot Akpan, Abama and Ikot Akpan in Essien Udim, Obot Akara and Ikot Ekpene local government areas.

He commended the contributions of the Nigerian Army and other sister security agencies, stressing that the team would continue to work together in securing the state.
