According to a statement released by the Zamfara State Police Command, the soldier responsible for the fatal shooting has been identified as Hassan, a member of the military unit attached to OPHD Sector 6 in the Dan Marke area of Bukkuyum, Zamfara State.

The tragic event unfolded on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., when SP Liman, who served as the Divisional Police Officer of Wusagu Division in Kebbi State, was on his way to attend a monthly conference in Birnin Kebbi. Liman was stopped at a military checkpoint where he identified himself as a police officer. Despite this, Hassan reportedly shot him in the head, leading to his immediate death.
