How Ogun Secondary School Students Attacked, Injured DPO, Others | DETAILS

Students of Ogun state secondary schools, have reportedly attacked the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Obantoko Division in Adatan Area Command of Abeokuta, SP Alimeke Ignatius and his men.

The policemen were said to have been stoned when they arrived a fight scene. Students of Egba Comprehensive High School and Asero High School, were said to have engaged in a bloody clash, hauling stones at each other and blocking the main road.

Police operatives attached to Obantoko police station were called to arrest the situation. Unfortunately, the DPO and his men got injured while trying to restore peace.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident to Daily Post added;

"The DPO was hit by stones. The students were throwing stones and other objects at themselves during the fight.

Responding to any arrest made, Oyeyemi said;

"We cannot arrest the students because they are minors. We can only detain and counsel them, after which they will be released.ÔÇØ
