How School Girl Was Swept Away By Flood In Ondo

A Junior Secondary School student identified as Moturayo John of Mount Carmel Girls School, Ikare Akoko,Ondo was said to have been swept away by a flood that was caused by a heavy downpour.

The details of the incident though sketchy as at the time of filing this report, was gathered that it occurred on Tuesday in Semusemu area of the town.

A source in the community stated that the girl was playing with erosion and she put her legs inside the water when she mistakenly slipped into the water and was carried away.

According to the source, "The only thing found while searching for her is her mathematical set."

The Divisional Police Officer in Ikare Akoko, Mr. Olatujoye Akinwande, who confirmed the incident said the school principal, Mrs. Ajoke Asiwaju, reported the matter at the police station.
He said the search and rescue operation had commenced.
