B00M: How Senators Held Their Plenary Under Leaking Roof In The National Assembly | SEE PHOTOS

The senators who resumed their plenary on Tuesday, June 22 had to conduct their sitting under a leaking roof in the National Assembly.

As at 11: 00 am, the cleaners battled to clean up a large amount of water which flooded the Senate lobby of the National Assembly Complex to restrict the water from entering the main senate chambers.

The water was leaking directly from the roof of the complex.

Amid the leaking roof of the lobby, Senate President, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmad Lawan entered the chambers at exactly 11.00am to preside over the plenary.

Recall that in the 2020 budget presentation, N37 billion was budgeted for the maintenance of the complex .

This had caused uproar from Nigerians including the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), who continuously kicked against the outrageous sum.

The budget was however reduced but did not get the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
