JAMB Responds To Repentant Malpractice Candidate's Apology After 21 Years | DETAILS

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has rejected the apology of a candidate who engaged in examination malpractice twenty one years ago when he wrote University Matriculation Examination(UME), now Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Timipade Kemepade who is the repentant candidate wrote an open letter to JAMB titled: "Restitution on my JAMB Result 21 years ago". In his letter, he blamed youthful exuberance for his misconduct amidst his apology.

The letter reads;"With regret and sincere apology to JAMB, I, Timipade Kemepade, with Certificate No. 33208803GA confess that I participated in examination malpractice 21 years ago while sitting my JAMB examination.
I, therefore, seek the forgiveness of JAMB. I sincerely regret my youthful exuberance."

However, the Board rejected Mr. Kemepade's apology and action, stating that they are "rejected in their entirety and are therefore not admissible." The Board informed Mr. Kemepade that the only condition his apology will be accepted is him forfeiting all the certificates acquired with the results of the University Matriculation Examination's certificate.
