Mohamed Salah signs new Liverpool deal to finally end speculation over future - 'I'm very excited'
Mohamed Salah has committed his future to Liverpool. The 32-year-old was set to be out of contract in the summer but has penned a new two-year deal that will keep him at Anfield until 2027. Salah joined Liverpool from Roma for £34 million in 2017 and has had a superb individual season that could see him break many goal and assist records, as well as win a second Premier League title.

Mohamed Salah has ended months of speculation over his future by signing a new two-year contract with Liverpool.

The 32-year-old was one of three key Liverpool players, along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, set to become a free agent in the summer.

But the Egyptian forward, who is having a superb individual season, will now be staying at Anfield until 2027.

"Of course, I'm very excited," Salah said.

"We have a great team now. Before also, we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.

"It's great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it's going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.

"I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us, and we'll give it our best, and hopefully, in the future we're going to win more trophies."

Liverpool signed former Chelsea man Salah from Roma for £34 million in 2017.

He scored 32 Premier League goals in his first season at Anfield and has netted at least 18 in every season since.

This term, the forward tops the goalscoring charts once more, with 27 strikes to his name, leaving him six clear of Manchester City's Erling Haaland.

He added another five in the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup, taking his all-competitions total to 32 in 45 appearances.

The Egyptian looks on course to earn a second Premier League winners' medal of his Liverpool career, with the Reds 11 points clear of second-placed Arsenal with seven games to go.

Liverpool next face West Ham in the Premier League, before navigating a tricky title run-in that includes two home games against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal respectively, sandwiching a trip to Chelsea.

They then travel to Sussex to face Brighton and Hove Albion, before ending the season back at Anfield against Crystal Palace.
