New Govt House will be completed before my tenure expires - Gov. Ikpeazu

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has reiterated his resolve in ensuring that the new Government House located at Ogurube Layout, Umuahia is completed before he leaves office in 2023.
Governor Ikpeazu made his feelings known when he paid an inspection visit to the new complex in company of the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji to ascertain the progress of work.
According to the Governor, it is important that Mr. Speaker is part of the inspection to see what the executive is doing with the funds appropriated by the legislature for the project.

The Governor expressed satisfaction that the contractor was now back on site, adding that the visit was to ensure that the job was going according to specifications. "I have come to see the quality of work and to ensure they are working in line with specifications "

The Governor disclosed that, at present , the contractor is doing electrical, plumbing and tilling works as plastering had been completed. He encouraged the contractor to expedite work to achieve the plan of completing the project in good time.
