The event held at ENUDA High School Football Field, Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.

Giving his speech, the Association President, Chief Nwaka Inem 'Enyi Oha' noted that the High School which was established in 1954, has produced accomplished men in various sectors of life.

He regretted that a great citadel of learning as ENUDA High School, is left in an almost collapsed state.

"It is disheartening that a school that has done so much to develop human capital for the society is allowed to be in the very state we are seeing today.

" Apart from the general decadence in our educational system, ENUDA is also suffering from land encroachment to the effect that most of our land has been illegally occupied.

"Despite the very appealing state of affairs things couldn't have gone so bad if we were all alive to our responsibilities as old students. Without giving excuses or passing blames, let us all admit that we have collectively neglected and seems to have forgotten the popular phrase 'as you pass through ENUDA, let ENUDA pass through you' Nwaka admonished.

He explained that the proposed fund of one billion naira (N1,00000000), if realized will help in arresting the decay, upgrade and return the school to its enviable position.

Also, the Association will set up a Committee of academic professionals to review and upgrade the current school curriculum as well as recover school lands encroached on for private residence.

Nwaka called on all old students, stake holders, Abiriba people home and abroad to contribute towards the project, assuring that the Alumni will make adequate use of the funds provided.

Giving insight on the repositioning infrastructural project, the project Committee explained that its audit showed that none of the several class rooms blocks in ENUDA High School currently meet the basic standard for learning.

Some of the faults identified by the project Committee include;

Collapsed/leaking classroom roofs, dilapidated class room floors, yanked off doors and windows, lack of sanitary facilities, absence of a school library, dilapidated laboratories, technical workshops, kitchen and refectory, dormitories, dilapidated computer studio which was recently constructed, etc.

The Committee noted that it resolved that arbitrary structured will no longer be allowed on the school premises.

It added that the proposed work include; re-roofing, re-flooring) tiling of floors, installation of doors and windows, plumbing and electrical works, installation of white smart boards and conveniences, standard classroom desks, staff quarters, perimeter fence. security posts, sport facilities, among others.
