The Sickle Cell Community congratulates President Muhammadu Buhari on his inauguration for a second tenure.

The community likewise congratulates all the newly inaugurated Governors of States and the returning ones, wishing them well as they embark on this four year journey towards making Nigeria great again.

In the same vein, the Community calls on these leaders to take into recognition the challenges of Sickle Cell Disease and the persons living with it.

They are requesting that the government should give more attention in terms of awareness, budgetary allocation ,releases, health insurance friendly schemes, provision of sickle cell well equipped units in hospitals across the Nation to reduce the sickle cell burden.
