BREAKING (Sit-At-Home): Gunmen Reportedly Invade Imo School, Chase WASCE Candidates Away

Gunmen have reportedly attacked the Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, chasing away candidates sitting for the 2021 West African Secondary Certificate Examination (WASCE).

Details of the invasion is sketchy as at press time, however, the gunmen were said to have destroyed some propertied in the school, halting the examination.

The WASCE examination started today, Monday September 13, nationwide.

The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Mike Abattam, could not take his calls and be unable to respond to text messages forwarded to him.

Recall that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had given an 'every Monday' sit-at-home directive for their members. Although the order was suspended, some persons have continued to obey the order while others volunteer themselves to enforce the order where they destroy properties of persons whom they feel has violated the directive.
