In what has now become one of the boldest and most scathing criticisms of Nigeria's current leadership, fiery preacher and respected political voice, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has launched a direct attack on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of arrogance, poor leadership, and overseeing a country descending rapidly into what he described as a "mafia state."

The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, in his State of the Nation Address delivered during Sunday service in Lagos, did not mince words as he took aim at the Tinubu administration's style of governance and its failure to chart a clear direction for Nigeria.

According to Pastor Bakare, President Tinubu must "stop playing GodÔÇØ and abandon what he termed a "dangerous political messiah complexÔÇØ that is currently alienating the people and pushing Nigeria toward the brink.

"The current administration is steering the polity adrift. It is time for this government to embrace humility,ÔÇØ Bakare declared before a visibly stunned congregation.

He emphasized that his concern was not born out of bitterness or political rivalry, but a sincere desire to see Nigeria progress. "I do not want this government to fail, but I must speak truth to power. The president must stop playing God,ÔÇØ he said firmly.

Bakare, a former presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), warned that the executive and legislative arms of government are now the two main contenders in what he called 'institutional immorality', stating that their actions resemble those of criminal syndicates.

"It is clear that our so-called leaders are determined to turn Nigeria into a mafia state,ÔÇØ he lamented. "What we are witnessing today is no longer governance, but state capture by a political cabal obsessed with power and self-preservation.ÔÇØ

In a striking call for reform, the outspoken cleric proposed a psychiatric evaluation for all aspiring public office holders in Nigeria. According to him, the moral and psychological state of the nation's leaders has deteriorated to such a repugnant level that citizens must "declare a state of emergency on governance.ÔÇØ
