In a strongly worded statement issued on Sunday, April 6, 2025, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Governor condemned the killings in the strongest possible terms, describing them as "unprovoked, barbaric, and an act of terror that must not be tolerated by any government or security establishment."

Governor Otti charged all security agencies operating in the state to immediately swing into action, track down the perpetrators of the heinous act, and ensure that they are brought to justice without delay.
"This gruesome and cold-blooded murder of innocent foreign investors and a patriotic officer of the Nigerian Police Force is one tragedy too many. We will not rest until every one of those involved is hunted down and prosecuted," Otti vowed.
The Governor, who appeared visibly enraged by the latest act of violence, warned that his administration would not allow criminals to turn Abia State into a safe haven for lawlessness. He emphasized that his government has been making deliberate efforts to create a secure and enabling environment for businesses and investments, particularly in strategic sectors such as solid minerals, but lamented that this act of terror was clearly intended to sabotage the economic progress being recorded under his leadership.
Otti stated that his government has been actively supporting security agencies in the state with logistics, intelligence, and morale-boosting interventions. He, however, acknowledged that incidents like the Uturu killings underscore the need for even more robust and proactive security operations.
Describing the attack as having "the clear signature of terrorism," Otti called on all people of good conscience, irrespective of political or ethnic affiliations, to condemn the incident and work together to rid the state of criminal elements.
