A retired Nigerian lecturer, Muritala Haroon, 80, has reported to a customary court of his wife's refusal to adhere to the court's order of granting him his s-xual rights.

This was in a resumed hearing on March 18, in the divorce suit between Mr Haroon and his wife Afsat

"My wife did not abide by the advice given to her by this court to allow peace to reign by agreeing to perform her wifely duties.ÔÇØ Harron cried.

Haroon had on February 2021, requested a Customary Court sitting in Mapo, Ibadan, to dissolve his 52-year-old marriage with Afsat, on claims of s-xual starvation, and threat to life.

He told the court that his wife Afsat, usually locks him out of their bedroom, denying him sex.

"I can no longer cope with the attitude again. Worst still, she and her relatives want me dead. Afsat attempted to stab me. She is misleading our six children. She has turned them against me'' he said
Afsat on her part, rejected the plea for separation, accusing her husband to be promiscuous.

"Prof is promiscuous. I cannot have anything to do with [him] because he slept with his close friend's three wives.

"My Lord, Haroon slept with the three wives of the man who acted as an intermediary whenever we had problemsÔÇØ she said.

Meanwhile, Afsat was absent and was not represented at the resumed hearing in court.
Magistrate Ademola Odunade, pleaded with Haroon to exercise more patience.

"The court will work with the extended members of the family to resolve the matter amicablyÔÇØ Ademola said

The matter was adjourned til May 17.
