Abia State, Nigeria - In a political move that has sparked conversations across Abia State, Hon. Ibe Michael Nwoke, the 2023 House of Representatives candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) for Obingwa, Osisioma, and Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, has officially announced his resignation from the party.

The announcement, which came through a personally signed statement, marks the end of Nwoke's chapter in the YPP-a platform on which he contested for federal legislative office during the 2023 general elections.

"It is with due sense of honour and statesmanship that I write to formally announce my resignation from the Young Progressive Party, YPP," Nwoke wrote.
According to the statement made public on Monday, Nwoke's decision followed wide consultations with his associates, friends, and family members. Sources close to the grassroots politician reveal that the move may be part of a broader realignment in preparation for upcoming political opportunities in the state and beyond.

Though he did not immediately disclose his next political destination, Hon. Nwoke used the announcement to express deep appreciation to the YPP for what he described as a "cordial relationshipÔÇØ during his time in the party.

"I also use this great opportunity to thank the party and, through you, the entire hierarchy of the party for the cordial relationship,ÔÇØ he added.
Political observers note that Hon. Ibe Michael Nwoke remains a strong political voice in Abia politics, particularly in the Obingwa-Osisioma-Ugwunagbo axis. His next move will be closely watched, especially in light of current realignments and growing interest in political inclusivity and youth leadership.
