Abuja, Nigeria - In a significant move aimed at enhancing the efficiency and transparency of Nigeria's public procurement system, President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Mamman Ahmadu from his role as the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

Presidential Spokesman Ajuri Ngelale announced the decision on Saturday, stating, "This is part of a larger reorganization effort in the public procurement system to reposition the agency for greater efficiency and transparency."

Following Ahmadu's removal, the President has directed that the most senior officer within the Bureau assume the role of acting Director-General until a new appointment is made. This transitional measure is intended to ensure continuity and stability within the agency during the interim period.
