Concern is mounting within the Catholic community and the wider public following the disturbing public behavior of Rev. Fr. Francis Anyanwu, a suspended priest of the Catholic Diocese of Aba, whose recent outbursts on social media have triggered alarm and confusion.

Fr. Anyanwu, once a promising priest, has in recent weeks flooded Facebook with baseless allegations against senior members of the Catholic Church-accusing them of sexual misconduct, cultism, and spiritual manipulation. Those targeted include respected clergy such as Rev. Fr. Kelechi Anyanwu, Rev. Fr. Felix Onyeugba, Rev. Fr. Innocent Ezenwoke, Rev. Fr. Paul Nwokeleme, and even Rev. Fr. Prof. John Egbulefu, a globally respected theologian.

His claims, described by observers as outrageous and delusional, are not backed by any verifiable evidence. Fr. Anyanwu's own admission that these posts stem from "dream revelationsÔÇØ has only deepened concern over his mental stability.

A Decline That Began in Spain

Church sources reveal that Fr. Francis Anyanwu first began displaying unusual behavior during a language study program in Spain, which led to consultations between the Bishop of Aba and Spanish Church authorities. He was subsequently recalled to Nigeria. However, rather than accept help, he launched a personal crusade against his superiors, accusing them of witchcraft and cultism.

Upon his official suspension, he escalated his attacks-making wild, defamatory claims against fellow clergy members and even returning to Spain against Church directives.

Calls for Compassion and Mental Health Support

"He's clearly unwell,ÔÇØ said a senior parishioner in Aba. "What he needs is psychiatric and medical care-not likes, shares, or ridicule.ÔÇØ

Church leaders, including Rev. Fr. Raphael Ezeogu, Chancellor of the Diocese of Nnewi, have also cautioned the public not to join in the frenzy:
