Wike Declares Public Holiday, Orders Close Of Shops As Tinubu Visits Rivers | WATCH VIDEO
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has declared Wednesday, May 3, 2023, a public holiday in the state on the heels of Bola Tinubu's visit to the state.

Tinubu, the president-elect, will pay a two days working visit to the state on Wednesday and Thursday, to commission Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover and Magistrates Court building in Port Harcourt .

Governor Wike also ordered that shops located around Rumuola be closed from 8am to 3pm on Wednesday.
"I urge all Rivers citizens to come out in mass receive our president elect, His Excellency Senator Ahmed Tinubu and display the traditional Rivers hospitality as he commissions these legacy projects to God's glory and advancement of our development.

"I Hereby declare Wednesday 3rd May 2023 a public holiday to enable the people of Rivers State to receive our president elect rousingly.
"Furthermore, all shops and business premises along Rumuola should be closed from 8am to 3pm on Wednesday 3rd of May, 2023" the governor said in a state broadcast.

The 1007.5 metres Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover which connects Rumuola road to Ikwerre road is the 12th flyover built by Wike's administration since 2019.
