2023: Gov. Wike Rejects 70 Years Old Governorship Aspirant In Rivers State

Addressing critical stakeholders in River State a couple of days ago, Gov. Wike expressed shock that Senator Sekibo would be wanting to be Governor at a spent age.

"I am shocked that Sen. Sekibo even dreamed of running the affairs of River State when he has passed his prime. I don't even know how to explain this to the good people of River State that a grandpa wants to be Governor" Wike cried.

Wike stated that the job description of a Governor and his terms of reference cannot be handled by an old man. Saying that it'd take the Equanimity of a young and vibrant soul to meet the inherent and tedious job of running the affairs of a state like Rivers.

"I, Nyeso Wike will support the aspiration of a young and energetic soul. I tell you for free, Governing a state like Rivers is not a tea party affair. Her demands are neck-breaking. Therefore, an old man should enjoy his retirement in peace." He stressed.

He further lambasted Hon Tele Ikuru, who went ahead to purchase his form without proper consultation and insisted that the River State PDP family will work together to arrive at an acceptable candidate.
