Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has broken his silence on the ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections-making it clear he has no intention of dumping the LP for any coalition. In a bold declaration that could reshape the opposition strategy, Obi accused President Bola Tinubu's administration of masterminding internal crises within both the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Anambra State governor did not mince words in alleging that the federal government is actively fueling disunity within opposition parties to weaken any credible challenge to Tinubu's reelection bid in 2027. Obi's claims have sparked fierce debates across political and civil society spaces, especially given the delicate coalition talks currently ongoing among opposition leaders.

Referencing past experience under late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, Obi said, "We had a problem in our party before, in the past. Yar'Adua was the President.
